Preparing your collection for sale:
-
Do not clean your
coins or press your bank notes! It will usually decrease
their value significantly.
-
It is not necessary
for you to sort all of your coins, although it may speed
up our assessment of your collection. It is appreciated
if Canadian silver coins are sorted by denomination. Quarters
and dimes can also be sorted by silver quality as set out
below: 1. 1966 and older 2. 1967; 3. 1968 silver
(note: dimes and quarters
dated 1968 were made of both silver and nickel. Only
the silver coins have a premium value. The easiest
way to tell the difference is with a magnet. The silver
coins are not magnetic, while the coins made of nickel are
magnetic.)
-
If you are unsure
if an item has a collector value, please bring it in for
us to check. Sometimes ordinary looking items have
a high collector value.
Appointments
are preferred, but not always necessary. For prompt
attention to your collection, call (905) 883-5300 or email
us to make an appointment. By making an appointment,
we are able to ensure that a buyer specializing in the
type of material you have is available to meet with you.
