This 2014 $20 fine silver coin celebrates the joy of the festive holiday season with painted elements and a charming, three-dimensional Venetian glass snowman inclusion.
Designed by Julius Csotonyi, the reverse displays a colourful and cheerful image of an outdoor snow-covered scene with a delicately-painted Christmas tree and pair of skates, a cheerful red mug, and a home with a cozy-looking fire lighting the windows. The heartwarming scene is enhanced with a three-dimensional glass snowman, created by master glassmakers in Murano, Italy. Venetian glass is prized around the world for its clear, vibrant colours; because these small snowmen are handcrafted, each one is unique! In the top left curve of the coin, the word "CANADA", the date "2014", and the face value of "20 DOLLARS" is engraved.
This coin is struck in one troy ounce of 99.99% fine silver, and has a mintage of 10,000 pieces worldwide. As a pure silver coin, this item is GST/HST-exempt.
