Pull back and see the bigger picture. The successor to the Royal Canadian Mint’s Big Coin series of five ounce 99.99% pure silver coins, The Bigger Picture zooms in on Canada’s classic circulation coin designs and zooms out to reveal a much bigger story. This subscription will ensure you receive each of the six limited edition coins in the series, plus includes a premium wood display case to house and present the complete six piece set. Mintage is limited to just 1,300 of each coin. GST/HST exempt.
The first coin will be shipped right away, with the remaining five coins shipped upon release every second month. Each coin will be billed at $599.95 as it is shipped until the six piece collection is complete. The first coin in the series is a re-imagined 10 cent coin, shifting the focus to the Bluenose’s legacy as a working fishing vessel, and it shines a silvery spotlight on the dorymen who were the backbone of the North Atlantic fishery. On the Grand Banks, off the coast of Newfoundland, two fishermen toil at the oars of a wooden dory, while their bait attracts seabirds. Canada’s most famous ship, Bluenose, can be seen in the distance, where the waves from the original coin design extend outward to form a unified horizon.
The obverse of each coin features a maple leaf pattern and the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
