This substantial collection pays tribute to Canada's soldiers who fought to make Canada and the world a better place for us to live today. It includes a limited edition proof silver dollar in recognition of the 75th Anniversary of the Declaration Second World War which features three women constructing an Avro 683 Lancaster X, garbed in the work wear typical of the era around the Second World War, plus a set of two commemorative VE Day proof coins issued in 2005, and four historic coins dating back to the era of the Second World War.

This set includes:
1 x 2014 Limited Edition Proof Silver Dollar - 75th Anniversary of the Declaration of the Second World War - Mintage only 7,500 (issue price $69.95)
The Royal Canadian Mint presents a limited edition proof silver dollar in recognition of the 75th Anniversary of the declaration Second World War. This minutely-detailed coin designed by Canadian artist Silvia Decota depicts three women constructing an Avro 683 Lancaster X, garbed in the work wear typical of the era around the Second World War; this conflict grew to such dire proportions that the urgent mobilization of the entire country was necessary, therefore requiring women—then relegated to the realm of domesticity—to begin working in war industries. This included the building of ships, aircraft, vehicles and weaponry, as well as in munitions plants and on farms. They could also be found driving trucks and providing logistical support for soldiers, among many other previously male-oriented roles. This coin, crafted in two-thirds of an ounce of 99.99% fine silver, pays tribute to the efforts and sacrifices of both the lives lost in the war, and the efforts of those left behind on the home front. With a limited mintage of 7,500, this limited-edition silver dollar would make a striking and unique addition to any collection of fine silver coins.

1 x VE Day Set - Mintage only 42,792 (issue price $29.95)
In 2005, the Royal Canadian Mint produced a commemorative five cent coin to mark the 60th anniversary of VE Day – Victory in Europe near the end of WWII in 1945. A total mintage of only 42,792 of these coins were produced for collectors in sterling silver in near flawless double struck frosted cameo proof condition, together with a bronze medallion depicting Land, Air and Sea imagery on the reverse and the late King George VI on the obverse. A 36 page bilingual booklet detailing Canada’s significant role leading up to the end of the war in Europe, with photographs depicting the Canadian effort, is also included in the presentation.

1 x War Era Coin Set, 5¢ Issue (issue price $19.95)
This set features four war-time issue coins. Included in this set is a 1942 5-Cent, 1943 5-cent, 1944 5-cent and 1945 5-cent. The 1942 and 1943 “nickels” in this set are struck in predominantly copper, as nickel was in high demand for war production, making these coins true relics of the time.

Value: The combined issue price or regular individual selling price of all the items included in this collection is $109.95.
