Description

**Please note: This product does not contain the original beauty sleeve.**

The focal point of this 2019 $15 fine silver coin is a three dimensional gold plated maple leaf, framed by an intricately engraved wreath of maple leaves reminiscent of Canada’s first coinage issued from 1858 to 1936.  The combination of tradition and new minting technology combines to create a work of fine art in collectible coinage.  Add to this the exceptionally low mintage of just 2,500 pieces and this becomes a rare collecting opportunity.  GST/HST exempt.

The Design:

Artist Trevor Tennant offers a modern take on Leonard C. Wyon’s classic maple boughs, as they appeared on various denominations of Canadian circulation coins issued between 1858 and 1936. Two crossed boughs of Acer Saccharin are bound together by a ribbon bow and framed by small denticles that line the rim. The maple-themed celebration is enhanced with a gold-plated sugar maple leaf on the coin’s surface. The word “CANADA” and the face value, “15 DOLLARS”, are also engraved on the reverse. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
